- What is life like for a child with a life-threatening illness like Cystic Fibrosis? Just ask 10-year-old Thomas, who has battled the disease since he was born. Last year, Thomas and his parents left their home in Ottawa to move to Toronto so that he could receive a double lung transplant. It's not easy to be so far from friends and family, especially during a long and often painful recovery.
