Description

Excerpted from the website:

I began breeding maltese exclusively ten years ago, when our kids were small, and I was a stay-at-home mom attending school for medical coding. Originally, I intended to breed for just a few years, but like many maltese owners, soon found myself so in love with, and captivated by the breed, that I decided to devote myself to sharing the joys of maltese ownership with others like myself. (Or maybe the joys of human ownership with other maltese like mine, lol.) I have read many books, attended many shows, and educated myself as much as possible about what makes the perfect maltese. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and when one of our girls produced a baby-doll-faced pup eight years ago, I was so taken by this look, that I decided to instill it in my line, and specialize in the face. All maltese puppy faces are cute, and many breeders claim to produce this face, but to give credit where it is due, it is my opinion that this face was first made widespread by the Marcris line, the look of whose dogs I have made it my goal to try to achieve. We are now producing 80% babydoll-faced pups, and this is important to us, but comes second to health, temperament, and suiting the AKC standard for the breed. We also feel that proper socialization is very important, and our pups grow up underfoot in our home. I have never been comfortable with dogs living in cages, so the parents are also underfoot, and treated as members of the family. We retire them from our breeding program at the age of five, and adopt them out to single dog homes, so that they get to spend the majority of their lives being spoiled as "only dogs' living with their own families. It is possible to breed maltese without treating them as breeding stock, as so many kennels and puppymills do, and it is my opinion that if you are not willing to go the extra mile to give these dogs good homes while they are producing pups, then you shouldn't be breeding dogs at all, but ought to switch to cows or some other barnyard animal. I am not a professional website designer, but we do have many nice pictures of our dogs and puppies available to view on this site. Please feel free to browse the site, see the look we put on our dogs, and decide if a Snowdance Maltese is the maltese for you. Welcome!
