SoGamed is today the biggest eSport gaming community in the world, by many called "the CNN of e-Sports". In this community eSport players from the whole world meet, interact, share news, talk, download demos and have their online profiles. There are today almost 500.000 members on SoGamed from more than 65 countries. All the big eSport teams are represented and also the elite players from almost every country that has an infrastructure good enough for online gaming. Since it's so international it's almost the only place where the different country based communities can meet. The basis of SoGamed is the communication and interaction between its members. The members can post local news regarding happenings that occur in their country based community or major news that regards the entire community. Since it's driven by its members all major news gets out on SoGamed before all other major eSport sites and has thus become the "market news paper" where the other big sites turn to SoGamed for the latest news. A lot of the communication is happening between the members where they send messages and post in each others guestbook's. SoGamed also indexes the news of all the major eSport sites and list them under the "Gaming News" section; this makes SoGamed the natural place to see what's happening in the world of eSports. This section also gives the other sites a lot of traffic and we get several requests per week to index other sites.
The SoGamed forums are where the community discuss and chat outside of the IRC (Internet relay chat). IRC today is split up over several networks and therefore it's impossible for the different communities to interact through it. The SoGamed forums bring together all the world's communities into one, which makes it unique. Since all the major eSport players are represented on SoGamed the discussions often influence the way eSports evolve, even the big event organizers often take part in the discussions and learn from it. One of the most important factors of a successful community is that it profiles its members. Each member of SoGamed has a unique profile page where they can tell the world about themselves.
Over the past years, SoGamed has developed itself the one of the primer homes of the casual and elite e-Sport player. We hope we’ll be home to many more.
