Founder Biography
Janis Kupferer created the site as a means to fulfill her own need for friendships after a cross-country move landed her in a new town with no social connections. What started as a simple (and personal) internet search has quickly grown to the web’s largest friendship site for women.
After earning her MBA from the University of Florida, Kupferer began a career in corporate marketing which took her from Miami to Virginia to Atlanta, and finally to Denver in just 10 short years. Once in Denver, a product of several generations of successful entrepreneurs, Kupferer saw a need and took the plunge into sole proprietorship to create a new category and develop the concept of a women’s-only Friendship Networking site.
