Some companies are founded out of “ inspiration ”; others out of “ frustration .” Making big ideas real always results in “ perspiration .” Solidware Technologies is built upon heaping helpings of all three.
In 2004, a senior group of technical and business people convened in Keystone, Colorado to discuss their “frustration” with software quality and to brainstorm solutions. Months of prior research underscored the magnitude of the problem. Software defects cost the US $60B * and the world $175B ** annually. These are big numbers! Why do customers put up with this?
When the going gets frustrating, entrepreneurs get working on a solution. So, we defined and accepted the Solidware Challenge – to reduce the number of defects and the cost of defects by more than an order of magnitude.
