The Beaumont Enterprise, recognized by the Texas State Historical Survey Committee as Southeast Texas' oldest business institution, has been serving the region since 1880.
In addition to the daily newspaper, The Enterprise publishes several weekly newspapers: the Jasper NewsBoy, the Hardin County News, the Mid County Chronicle, the Orange County News and the Beaumont Journal. The company also produces Southeast Texas Business Monthly, Metropolitan Beaumont, Marketplace of Southeast Texas, Homes of Southeast Texas and Savor!, and the Web site www.SoutheastTexasLive.com.
Since 1998, The Enterprise has been recognized annually as one of the top medium-sized newspapers in Texas and four other states. In that same period, the newspaper has won five Katie awards from the Press Club of Dallas, two Houston Press Club Lone Star Awards and four Texas Headliners Foundation Journalism Awards for various efforts, including coverage of a Texas hate murder and an investigation into the continued presence of the Ku Klux Klan in the region.
