Over twenty-five years ago a quiet little company in Magnolia, Arkansas, began manufacturing the industry’s finest picnic tables and benches. Founder Charles Taylor had been an innovator and leader in the aluminum industry for years and now had become an entrepreneur with the establishment of Southern Aluminum.
Mr. Taylor realized the strengths aluminum offered and the potential it had for building durable products. So, the dream began. He started with tables and benches and in 1981, Southern Aluminum revolutionized the folding table industry by introducing the ALulite lightweight folding banquet table. Our innovative products set the industry ‘on its ear’ and, subsequently, other companies began introducing “lightweight” tables using alternative materials, but none are as strong and durable as aluminum.
At the request of our customers, Southern Aluminum designed an upscale table for training rooms, meeting rooms, and conference centers--the ALulite Designer Series table, recently renamed the iDesign Series. Soon after the introduction of the iDesign Series table we added ALulite portable staging to our product line.
