Description
I have been translating and interpreting for more than five years. I have my MA degree in Spanish and ESL (English as a Second Language), with an emphasis in translating. Along with the years of translating and interpreting experience, I also teach Spanish and English to adults.
While attending school, I lived in Spain for one year. By living in a Spanish-speaking country, I understand that cultural differences need to be taken into account when translating. I realize that, although Spanish is spoken in many different countries, there are colloquialisms that are unique to each country. For example, 'pluma,' specifically meaning 'pen,' is more often used in Mexico. Where as 'boligrafo,' specifically meaning 'ball-point pen,' is more often used in Spain.
Spanish by Amber prides itself on researching each country prior to tranlsating. This research will ensure proper, accurate translation and reduce the risk of misinterpretation.
