The Speaking Tree started out as a little canvas-covered stall in the alleyway of "The Glastonbury Experience" (a kind of alternative shopping mall in Glastonbury), where Gareth Mills sold secondhand books. The stall grew into Courtyard Books, a secondhand bookshop just paces from the stall. Then Gareth took on No. 5 High Street, selling new books, and called the shop 'The Speaking Tree'.
We have continued to develop quickly since, opening another store in Totnes, supplying shops throughout the country, and creating the website you see on your screen, where you can rapidly view and order the best of what we have to offer, wherever you are. But I'm afraid if you want to rummage through the stall, you'll just have to come to Glastonbury!
Speaking Tree Books sets out to acquire the best books, mainly in the mind, body and spirit field, at bargain prices, and pass the savings on to you.
