Spence Diamonds - Home
Spence Diamonds was founded 1978 in Vancouver, BC. Since then, the chain has grown to seven locations, in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto. They are Canada’s largest Canadian-owned diamond retailer, and manufacture a large majority of their 4,000+ items of jewelry, including custom designs, in their Vancouver manufacturing facility.
Shopping at Spence Diamonds
Spence Diamonds’ showrooms are different than most other diamond retailers, in that their display cases are open, giving customers a more relaxed and non-intimidating shopping experience. The display rings are not real diamonds but rather high quality prototypes, allowing the customer to try them on more freely, on their own terms. This practice also keeps the overhead costs lower, a savings that Spence passes on to the customer. As a service to their customers, Spence offers extensive amounts of education material to help buyers make an informed decision. This section even includes a printable ring size guide, so that every detail of a ring purchase can be researched before ever entering a showroom. The Spence Diamonds site even includes videos to help prepare customers for the showroom experience.
Guarantees and Policies
For every purchase made at Spence Diamonds, they back it with their Spence Diamonds Guarantee. In addition to that, they offer a “Trade-up” Policy, a Buy-Back Policy and 45 Day Return Policy. Their unprecendented Buy-Back policy reads as follows: At any time within five years from the time you purchase your Spence ring, we will buy your center diamond back from you for exactly what you paid for it! This does not include setting fees, semi-mounts with other diamonds, or sales tax. (We asked, but the government won't give us back the tax!) Simply return your Spence ring in its original condition with your original invoice if you wish to take advantage of our Diamond Buy-Back policy. This offer applies to any purchase made on or after May 27, 2005.

Community Involvement
Over the last several years, Spence Diamonds has donated over $300, 000 in cash and jewelry to some of their favourite charities, including: the United Way of Canada, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, BC Guide Dog Services and Street Angels.
