SpiritismOnline.Net is a not-for-profit website whose purpose is to present a fair and accurate representation of the Spiritist Doctrine on the web, as well as to promote its ideals of moral and intellectual development by gathering useful resources and making them available for free to the general public at one single place on the Internet.
Like many others, the idea of creating a website in which to gather (and distribute) accurate and unbiased information about the Spiritist Doctrine came about slowly. It was to be, in fact, a labor of love – a personal contribution to the doctrine which has provided so much to so many. In that sense, the idea has not changed; it has, however, gained substantial momentum in these past few months after it has become clear to me that more energy is spent in the attempt of unilaterally tarnishing and misrepresenting the doctrine on the web than in trying to understand it.
We are all entitled to our thoughts and opinions– they are our only true freedom. We often forget, however, that we are also responsible for them – their purpose and manner of expression. With that precept in mind, we fueled our own motivation to contribute positively; to provide fair and unbiased material which others may use to build their own informed opinions, if they so desire. The education and development of thoughts and opinions based on sound philosophical, scientific, and religious foundations is our goal. That is what we wish for others, because that is what we want for ourselves.
