About SRS

The Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) is an international society that was founded in 1966 with 35 members. It has gained recognition as one of the world's premier spine societies. The SRS has maintained a commitment to research and education in the field of spinal deformities. Strict membership criteria ensure that the individual Fellows support that commitment. Current membership includes over 800 of the world's leading spine surgeons, researchers, physician assistants and orthotists who are involved in research and treatment of spinal deformities.

Attendance at the SRS Annual meeting held each September has grown steadily over the years and now averages over 850. Each year presentations for the SRS Annual Meeting are selected from over 700 paper and poster abstract submissions using a blinded peer-review process. In addition to the annual meeting, the SRS offers a one-day course in conjunction with the annual meeting, provides part of the Federation of Spine Associations Specialty Day Program at the AAOS meeting, and sponsors the International Meeting on Advanced Spine Techniques (IMAST).

The SRS has prepared various educational brochures and materials for patients and medical professionals. Most recently, the SRS published a medical textbook entitled Spinal Deformity: the Fundamentals.
