Simply put... StarbandUsers.com is YOU! Most of the information you find within this site is provided by people just like yourself. They come from all walks of life, with varying levels of knowledge concerning computers. Yet every piece of information and experiences given by these individuals and yourself provide insight and valuable knowledge that otherwise would take many hours of reading, frustration, trial and error to obtain.
As for this domain, well, it's owned and operated by a user just like you; and that would be me... Ken Knight. My goal is to create a sense of community among those individuals who have decided to invest in a Starband unit. The idea is to have a site that provides not only the textual information about "how to best utilize" a Starband unit, but also a graphical presentation as well. One that can provide step-by-step tutorials for the not-so-techie type and also detailed information for those of you who consider yourself "hardcore" information junkies.
As for me, I've been dealing with computers since I was 15 (20 years ago). I started with a Radio Shack Model II with 16K of RAM and a Cassette drive for storage. Since there wasn't allot of programs available I spent most of my time writing my own and learning. From there I moved through various manufacture's computers and wound up working on PC's in the early 80's. I started my company, Help Consulting, officially in 1989. Now we provide software development and hardware services for industries in the local area. Along with providing software that is in use around the world today. Our flagship product is an Integrated Development Environment for the PERL language. It is currently used by NASA, Harvard University and many other companies and individuals around the globe.
