Founded in March 2003 by local musician, Tery Daly, Star City Scene is an interactive online community that covers and promotes the original music scene in Lincoln and spotlights local talent. SCS highlights all aspects of the local scene by including; local music news, streaming radio of Lincoln bands, interviews with bands, reviews of live shows and local releases, calendar of live music events, upcoming releases, band and event photos, band information, venue information, and original comics. Star City Scene also includes message boards, musician classifieds, chat venues, and equipment for sale listings, allowing the bands and the fans to stay up to date with whats going on in Lincoln. SCS also hosts regular live music events to spotlight local talent, such as Scenefest, and Powerless, and has plans for other events in the future.
Issues are posted on the first day of each month. News, SCS Radio rotation, Show Reviews, CD reviews, Photos, Band info, Release Dates, and Links info are updated all thoughout the month, so check back often.
To encourage the spirit of community that this site is based on, Star City Scene encourages all readers to contribute show reviews, album reviews, band interviews, or anything else they wish to Star City Scene. All submissions are subject to approval by SCS, and may be edited. Submissions are not guaranteed to be included (but probably will).
