- John has been a professional potter for over 20 years. He studied under master potter D. Miezenkowski at Fairmont State College in West Virginia. He stressed fine forms and accepted nothing else. After graduating from school, John and his wife Camille moved to Florida in 1978. John continued to work with stoneware and was doing well but felt it was too repetitious, not very creative and was limited to certain colors. John then changed clay bodies to a white earthenware and underglazes. He also added slab building to his technique.
