Stay Free! is a nonprofit, Brooklyn-based magazine that explores the politics and perversions of mass media and American (consumer) culture. We've been around for over ten years, in one form or another. Stay Free! is published once or twice a year, depending on how ambitious we are feeling. The next issue (#25) will be out in February 2006. We also run a blog, Stay Free! Daily, which is similarly focused on mass media and American culture.
Stay Free! heartily welcomes outside contributors. If you've got an idea for the magazine, just write a letter pitching the idea and send pertinent samples of your work. If you'd like to join the Stay Free! Daily blog team, start sending us tips for the blog. We'll credit you for anything we use and, if you submit them regularly, we'll invite you to join. (Don't be afraid to ask us as well.) Stay Free! is distributed in book and record stores across the U.S. and Canada, as well as in eateries and shops throughout Boerum Hill, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Park Slope, and Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. • If you do not see Stay Free! at your favorite local bookstore, please inquire within.
