- The story of Sterling is irrevocably entwined with that of it's founder, the late Mr. O.P.Ghai. From humble beginnings as a teacher, he steped into the arena of publishing in the mid forties by establishing University Publishers in Jalandhar, and then Sterling Publishers in mid-sixties. Apart from being the first recipient of the Prakashak Ratna award, he wrote several books of great revelance in today's farst paced world. Mr.O.P.Ghai was the President of the Federation of Publishers and Booksellers Association of India, President of Federation of Indian Publishers, and an Executive Committe member of the International Publishers Association. During his lifetime, he was aided by his son, Mr.S.K.Ghai, in all his diverse plans.
