- The Project's goal basically is to investigate possible links between the Sewell, Sewall, Sowell, Seawell families via Y-DNA genetic testing supplemented with additional, conventional genealogical input. Where links are found within any given surname realm or between two or more of these family names, those connections will be investigated in-depth. Genetics can help us both with detective work in our 'recent' past and tell us about our ancient past. For Y-DNA testing, the Project uses the services of Family Tree DNA located in Houston , Texas .
