Description
Street Women Press was formed in 1996 by poets Philippa Elphick and Paula Harris. The pair had met in early 1995 through a writing group in Palmerston North, and, over several meals and a lot of talking, decided to join forces as StreetWomen and publish a book of poetry.
Their vision is to create books that are as beautiful to touch and look at as the poetry is to read.
Paula has had work published in Spin, JAAM, Takahe, Poetry NZ and The New Zealand Listener, and has featured on the US syndicated radio programme The Romantic Hours. She is a previous winner of the Whitireia Poetry Award, was highly commended in the 1999 Australasian Poetry Awards and in 1998 attended the Poetry Workshop at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. Paula is the Executive Officer of Street Women Press.
