I was born and raised in Gilroy, California (about an hour south of San Francisco) yes, the Garlic Capitol of the world. Gilroy is really know for two things the outlet center and the Garlic Festival. I went to Gilroy schools and dropped out of college to work in retail management (don’t laugh it sounded good at the time)
I spent the next 12 years working for Timberland, Gap, Ralph Lauren and Armani in various management positions but mostly a General Manager. Ralph Lauren was the largest box I ran… sales were over 15 million a year and I managed a team of 175 employees. But guess what??? Retail sucks!
In 2003 I started my own business… yes, on the Internet. At the time I didn’t have money to pay a company to market my website so I spent ALL my time learning search engine optimization. The great thing about SEO is it’s ever changing and it keeps you on your toes so you really don’t stop learning.
