Studiowhiz - rambling thoughts from a web nut

About Studiowhiz.com

Studiowhiz.com is the personal weblog of Keran McKenzie a passionate web nut.

I started my journey into the online realm early in 1994, and have been involved in the commercial development of websites & web applications ever since. Here in 2008 that's just on 14 years of commercial website experience - and by gosh what an adventure it has been. I started Studiowhiz.com actually using a URL redirect to a then free hosting service. In 2001 I purchased www.studiowhiz.com and pushed ahead with creation of an online community.

Before long Studiowhiz.com was a name to be reckoned with in the online communities with over 1 000 000 visitors a month. By 2003 Studiowhiz had a PR 7 with Google, and we could write an article and almost guarantee a number 1 position in Google. I could write to almost any publishing house and ask for copies of new books. We reviewed the latest software, hardware and more. Sadly I learned that if you don't listen to the community - they leave. I had started my own Web House in 2001 creating some fantastic online solutions for clients around the world, and by late 2003 I didn't have the same time to dedicate to studiowhiz. From 2004 to 2006 nothing was done on Studiowhiz - well okay I tried a couple of things including rebuilding the community. We lost our Page Rank - it's now zero. The site was kicked off Google Adsense and out of the Google index.

My career however has taken off and I now enjoy a job as Product Development Manager helping to drive some of New Zealand's leading websites. Now Studiowhiz.com is my blog & I hope to share with you all some of the lessons I've learned so far on my journey. I'll get my page rank back, Studiowhiz will get back into Google's search index & hopefully you'll learn something as I share.
