Description
The Institute for Sustainable Development in Business was created in 1998 to help businesses, business support organisations and communities implement Sustainable Development – ie economic, environmental and social progress. It is a cross-faculty unit operating as a “window” onto all the environmental and sustainable development expertise including research and consultancy in the University.
Since being established the Institute has received investments of over £6 million to work with businesses, and has provided consultancy and research to the private and public sectors. Two very successful knowledge transfer partnerships (KTPs) with an international company have helped the company to integrate environmental improvements into their strategy and resulted in significant on-going savings.
ISDB hosts the Environmental Industries Forum (EIForum) to support and develop the environmental goods and services sector. The Pot of Gold competition aims to support innovative environmental solutions which will have a significant impact for the industry.
