Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition (SVTC) is a diverse grassroots coalition that engages in research, advocacy, and organizing around the environmental and human health problems caused by the rapid growth of the high-tech electronics industry.
ensure democratic decision-making for communities and workers affected by the high-tech revolution in Silicon Valley and other high-tech areas of the US and the world.
SVTC was formed in 1982 in response to the discovery of substantial groundwater contamination throughout Silicon Valley that was caused by toxic chemicals that leaked out of underground storage tanks from high-tech companies (at the time referred to as the "clean industry!")
