Oska Software is the world's largest developer and distributor of interactive characters for Microsoft Windows® based computers. The characters are called DeskMates®. Chances are that you have probably seen one of our DeskMates before - after all, there have been over 80 Million downloads since the release of our first DeskMate.
Oska was established in 1997 by CEO Mark Coorey. We commenced operations with a revolutionary educational and training program. Our corporation's mascot, Oska, was incorporated into our software to assist the user, to make the program more entertaining to use and to give us a marketing edge. It soon became clear that the little animated Koala was the driving force behind sales of the program.
Due to Oska's popularity, we decided to release him as a standalone product. Oska DeskMate was launched in August 1998. We had no idea that Oska would start an animation revolution for PC users. Now 8 years on, we have 14 DeskMates with over 80 million downloads to their credit.
