About Tailor Made Cakes
Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Pauline Potter and Tailor Made Cakes is run from my home in Elstead, near Guildford in Surrey. I have been making and decorating cakes for many years, my first c ake creations were gifts and surprises for family and friends. You may notice in the picture gallery there are cakes for both 40
anniversaries for Peggy and Derrick – my parents! As people who had seen my cakes started making recommendations I began to get more and more requests. I recently decided to set this up as a business, particularly as my youngest child is now starting nursery school.
The Cakes
Most of the cakes you can see in the gallery were made from my favourite fruitcake recipe and are covered in fondant icing, some with Marzipan as well. Some are sponge cakes and chocolate cakes. The figures have all been hand-modelled from fondant icing and are edible. Most of the ideas are based on the interests of the person receiving the cake – the Spiderman and Game Cube cakes were for teenage boys and Yellow Submarine for the 40th birthday of an avid Beatles fan.
