Description
TERRITORIES 3069: Star Siege is a multiuser, graphical, online, strategy game. Players wage massive warfare in one of hundreds of parallel universes using fleets of custom designed ships which they control through a tactical, top-down graphical display. Players must manage resources, research and upgrade technology, launch espionage and covert operations, form alliances, defend their own territories and control large fleets of ships in an effort to rule the universe.
What separates TERRITORIES 3069: Star Siege from other online games is it's unique graphical interface and true turn-based gameplay. Ships are controlled in a top-down, graphical tactical view. This allows the player to develop and execute strategies for offensive and defensive operations. Considerable attention has been given to developing a balanced, intriguing game that allows players to execute cunning strategic warfare. TERRITORIES' true turn-based gameplay is unique. Players make decisions based on feedback from previous turns, enter their orders and then on a regular basis, all of the players' commands are processed in parallel.
TERRITORIES 3069: Star Siege is based on the multiuser BBS games Territories 2112 & Territories 3069 created by Jeffrey D. Hoffman in 1993. The Territories series was a popular online game for eSoft's TBBS multiuser bulletin board system. The BBS industry collapsed with the arrival of the web. In May, 2000 Jeffrey began creating a new game based on the previous engines that could be played through your browser. In March 2001, TERRITORIES 3069: Star Siege was released. In November 2001, version two was released to the public. In November 2002 the third-generation version was released. Each version expands and builds upon the previous in our on-going effort to deliver a superior online gaming experience.
