Alpha phi sigma is the largest and most active pre-med honor society at UT. APS was voted the 'best professional organization' at UT for the years 1998-1999 and 1999-2000. The purpose of alpha phi sigma is to be a resource for university of Texas students by providing information about the medical field, community contacts, mentorship for new students, and volunteer/internship opportunities as preparation for students desiring a future in medicine. APS offers more than just a gathering place for the premedical students at UT. We offer, among many things: information about medical schools and the MCAT, CPR classes, tutoring, mock MCATs, peer advising, medical school trips, health volunteer opportunities, guest speakers, parties, mixers, socials and of course, free pizza at every meeting.
