Title
Adventures in Thai Cooking & Travel
Description
Kasma Loha-unchit has been teaching Thai cooking since 1986, this website first came about in 1996 as the creation of Kasma's husband, Michael. It started out as a small site with 5 pages but soon grew much larger. It graduated to become a "dot com" in 1999. As of April 2006, the site is hosted by Lunar Pages.
The site was originally created on an APS M*Power Macintosh Clone and later revised on a Macintosh G4. I used BBedit to write the code and Adobe Photoshop to massage the graphics. Most of the graphics were scanned on an ancient (circa 1990) Hewlett Packard Scanjet IIC, a 400 DPI scanner that originally cost me $1,500. The site soon outgrew its design and I did a complete redesign in June 2000.
The site is updated roughly every 3 months with a new recipe, new information about a Thai ingredient, and a new "feature" article on Thai Food or Culture. Throughout the site, clicking on a thumbnail of a picture or photograph (but not a color drawing) will usually bring up a larger version. All art on the site is copyright to the artist and may not be used for any purpose without artist permission.
