Description
Benjamart (known as Ben for short) was born and grew up in Chiang Mai in northern Thailand; the capital of the what used to be the Lanna civilisation. Ben trained a teacher specialising in Agriculture and Domestic Science, so understands the science and technology behind Thai food. Since then, Ben has gained considerable experience in the Thai food restaurant business, both in Thailand and UK.
Ben’s objective is to provide Thai Lanna customers with more than good food. She aims to provide excellent food in a relaxed, informal and friendly atmosphere. She brings a little bit of Thai culture to the Midlands whilst making our customers feel relaxed and comfortable. An example of this is eating the Thai way.
In October 2000 we bought Ye Olde Wilkin Inn, close to Chasewater, and in January 2000 opened the Thai Lanna Restaurant. The restaurant has been decorated with statues, pictures and artefacts representing typical Lanna crafts. There are plans to develop this further.
