The Awakenings Project is a grass roots, self-help, arts organization that assists people with mental illness in developing and enhancing their creative abilities through several different vehicles: visual art, drama, literary arts, and music. We also educate the public about the experience of living with mental illnesses, and enhance the fellowship and self esteem of people with mental illness through arts education, therapeutic arts, and talent exhibitions.
