In 1993 The Magick Moon was first opened in Jonesboro, Arkansas. After pressure from local christian ministers the landlord was forced to ask us to close the shop and terminate our lease on the business property where The Magick Moon was located.
At first we refused to leave. This was our town too! We were conducting a simple legal business, doing nothing wrong, yet we were supposed to be the bad guys?
Much media was to follow as we organized a freedom of religion march that many Pagans across the US attended and supported. After a long, hard fought battle with the landlord, local christian ministers and radicals in the community, we were forced to close The Magick Moon's doors.
