The Mennonite -- News, articles and discussion resources to serve Mennonite Church USA

Description

Mennonite Church USA

Mennonite Church USA was one of the two new national denominations created out of the merger of two binational (Canada and U.S.) denominations, the General Conference Mennonite Church and the Mennonite Church. The U.S. delegates of the binational denominations voted overwhelmingly on July 5, 2001, at an assembly in Nashville, Tenn., to create Mennonite Church USA. The effective starting date for Mennonite Church USA was Feb. 1, 2002. Membership is approximately 120,000, with headquarters in Elkhart, Ind. and Newton, Kan.

The Mennonite is for members and people interested in Mennonite Church USA, an Anabaptist, historic peace church. The mission of The Mennonite is to help readers glorify God, grow in faith and become agents of healing and hope in our world.

Our issues carry articles, news of the church (both national and international), commentary, letters, columns and editorials. We operate out of two offices located in Goshen, Ind. and Newton, Kan.
