Since its founding in 1993, Sonus has grown into the largest professional hearing-care network in North America. Today Sonus offers private-label and multi-brand products to hearing-impaired consumers at more than 1,600 locations in the United States and Canada, including company-owned clinics and independent providers who are licensed Sonus Network affiliates. As an innovator and leader in hearing healthcare, Sonus is committed to hearing-loss education and prevention efforts, as well as supporting research into hearing-related disorders such as tinnitus.
In 2002 Sonus was acquired by the Amplifon Group, the global leader in hearing services, products and research. Based in Italy, Amplifon operates in several countries including Austria, Canada, Egypt, France, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the United States. With an international network of more than 3,000 locations. Amplifon has become the largest distributor of hearing aids in the world. In addition, the company offers an advanced line of diagnostic and rehabilitative equipment through its Amplaid Biomedical Line. Amplifon is actively involved in audiological research. The company sponsors a number of projects in partnership with the Center for Research and Study (CRS), a nonprofit institution devoted to hearing education and research.
