Description
The institute is rapidly becoming a centre of excellence for those wishing to learn more about complementary therapies and their benefits in the animal kingdom. The Principal and chief assessor is Julie Boxall who has been working with animals all her life. A qualified teacher and practitioner of complementary therapies on humans and animals, Julie was trained by the late Pamela Hannay, who was Senior Instructor of the Ohashi Institute in New York until her death in 2001.
Throughout her years as both an animal and human complementary therapist, Julie has gained a vast knowledge and experience in treating all sorts of disorders in a variety of animals using sports massage techniques, myofascial release, shiatsu, flower remedies and healing. We also have a veterinarian, nutritionalist, master saddler, farrier and equine dentist amongst our team of experts.
ICAT equine workshops/courses are held at local stable yards and at an excellent equine rehabilitation yard in Devon. Facilities include use of undercover American style barns, outdoor school and a comfortable classroom. The Canine courses are held in warm, comfortable, spacious surroundings with practical sessions held on site.
