Visitors weren’t extinct at Cliffe Castle Museum, in Keighley, when around 600 people turned out to get up close and personal with fossils. The activity day was entitled “Fantastic Fossils” and people could examine all different types of fossils as well as being able to make their own out of plaster of Paris. The museum’s education officer, David Sheldon, said: “It was really busy. We had all ages and everyone really enjoyed it. We had lots of our fossil handling collection out and we had some quite spectacular ones.” The museum is staging a series of activities on Tuesdays throughout August.
