- April 1991 the Thorne & Hatfield Moors Conservation Forum acts effectively as an umbrella for a wide range of like-minded organisations whose aims and objectives embrace those of the Forum. It has both membership and observers with representatives from NGO organisations such as the Wildlife Trusts, but also statutory agency and authority attendance. As its name suggests it provides a forum for debate, gathering and disseminating information. In recent years it has been forced to take on a campaigning role. However, this aspect of its work has always been underpinned and based upon sound safe science.
