The Tides Family of Organizations is a group of nonprofits that brings together people, resources and an overall vision for creating a healthy and just society-a society based on principles of social justice, broadly shared economic opportunity, a robust democratic process and sustainable environmental practices.
Tides works to increase the capacity and effectiveness of social change organizations and the nonprofit sector. The Tides Family of Organizations provides grantmaking services, fiscal support and infrastructure services to hundreds of donors, nonprofit groups and organizations who work to effect change in many different issue areas, including social justice, economic opportunity, democratic renewal, sustainable environmental practices, international issues and more. Tides programs and services provide organizations with the capabilities needed to focus their time and energy on their vision, rather than on logistics and operational issues. The organizations collaborate as partners sharing ideas, technical systems and an office complex to help increase operational efficiencies. The Tides Family of Organizations includes:
A foundation that facilitates grantmaking programs between donors and nonprofit organizations working for positive social change. Since 1976, it has granted more than $400 million to thousands of nonprofits.
