Description

Tom is equally versed in aesthetics and programming, a left-brain-right-brain kind of person. His first goal in any client relationship is to provide value commensurate with the cost of the project. Long-term client relationships take a high priority and provide a basis for the company's business model.

In 1987 Tom Ogden began his career as a contract technical illustrator for NetLine, Inc., where he first discovered an affinity for graphic programming in an aesthetic idiom. Working mostly in the PostScript page description language with desktop publishing programs and his own perspective modeling algorithms, Tom branched out as a free-lance artist and designer, specializing in printed media. He worked with a number of entrepreneurs and software companies, including Novell, CAPSSoft and LAN Times.

Following primarily aesthetic beginnings, Tom felt the need to branch into a more technical field, controlling the processes of design more profoundly. He worked for R.R. Donnelley & Sons, the world's largest printing company, as a PostScript Engineer, writing imposition software. Not wanting to curtail his graphic creativity, he continued to work nights as a freelance designer. Later, his day and night jobs were reversed when he took a job as an art director for an Internet company, called HomeStar.net, while still maintaining contract positions in PostScript development.
