Totally Awesome Historical Foundation and Endowment

Description

Totally Awesome House was an all-ages venue in Ann Arbor, MI that was also a home. The address was 724 N. Main, right next to the Summit Party Shoppe on the corner of Main and Summit in the Wheeler Park district. We hosted the Totally Awesome Supper Club on Tuesdays and other shows on irregular dates. Shows usually happened in the living room, which was a very cozy and intimate place to hear live music. Sometimes they happened in the basement, a haunted make-out room which was a spooky place for anything to happen. We had some very cool shows in the past, but we have no more planned for the future.

Everything above is in the past tense because we all moved out of Totally Awesome House in May 2005, right after the Totally Awesome Festival. After moving out, Patrick Elkins and Actual Birds embarked on two different Greyhound tours of the United States. Jason Voss spent a lot of time moving cats and material belongings around to different places in Michigan. Penelope went to Europe and then to Georgia.

By Summer Solstice, Dustin was in Ann Arbor while Pat and Jason were in Ypsilanti, each running their respective CDR labels Casanova Temptations Edutainment Consortium, Chew Your Own Records and We're Twins Records. Jason retired as host of the Local Music Show (WED 9-11 PM) on WCBN 88.3 FM and Dustin took it over. Jason became a music director at WCBN and started a new freeform show called JAZZ & NON-JAZZ: concerning "serious" music and all musics seriously considered (SUN 9-11 PM). In September, all four of the TAH residents moved into three separate houses (Patrick + Penelope still live together), all of which will be hosting some shows and other events.
