Touchstone Communities began as Care Inn Properties, Inc., a partnership formed in 1991 by now CEO Stan Studer, Jr. With a background in real estate and management of skilled nursing facilities, Studer and partners began seeking just the right communities to fulfill their mission of offering skilled nursing in a compassionate environment. The first community Care Inn Properties, Inc. acquired was Brenham Rest Home in 1994.
