St. Paul Travelers
St. Paul Travelers has recently become The Travelers Companies Inc. It has emerged as one of the biggest providers of insurance products related to property and casualty. They are based out of the United States.
History
Travelers has been in the industry for almost 140 years now. It was founded in 1864 where it was the first organization in America to start providing insurance against accidents. This concept was not present earlier and Travelers seems to have heralded this new concept in America. In 1912 Travelers provided the first auto policy with combination features. In 1996, they implemented a system to detect fraud to protect and arm themselves against rampant insurance frauds in the country. In 1997 they went a step further to introduce a policy that protected persons using a personal computer to do online banking transactions. In 2004, Travelers was incorporated into St Paul Travelers thereby resulting in an emergent company with a total experience of 285 years.
