TrialsCentralT was launched in 2001. Our mission is to improve access to current and comprehensive clinical trials information to support informed health care decision-making.
Kay Dickersin, PhD is an epidemiologist who has focused her research on clinical trials, systematic reviews, and related methodological topics. She is the Director of the Center for Clinical Trials and Evidence-Based Healthcare at the Brown Medical School, and the Director of the US Cochrane Center. Dr. Dickersin is a long-time supporter of the prospective registration of randomized clinical trials. With her colleagues, she has maintained the International Register of Clinical Trials Registers since 1987. Scientists and health care professionals have been the main users of this Register. Her goal in launching the TrialsCentralT web site is to make timely clinical trials information more available to a broader group of users via the Internet.
This site was coordinated and developed by Diana Anderson, RN, MPH. She passed away on October 9, 2003 and we have since dedicated this website to Diana. She had over 20 years of experience in health care and also had a long-standing interest in improving the quality and accessibility of health care information. Ms. Anderson had participated in government studies of the use of information technology in health care. She had written systematic overviews of health care research information for government policy makers and had prepared teaching materials for health care consumers.
