At Uey's Homeraised Puppies, I strive to raise chihuahuas, french bulldogs, presa canarios, and dachshunds that are free of abuse, disease, and genetic defects. In almost 14 years of breeding, I have experienced a few genetic defects, but always work with my vet to find the source of the problem. Once we find it, that dog is always taken out of my breeding program. My vet is Belleview Veternary Hospital, 352-347-3900, will verify this. I have neutered one of the most beautiful pugs I have ever seen because I was not happy with the results when I bred him. I have also neutered and spayed a few dachshunds for this same reason. I provide a written genetic warrantee and have to pay for problems that result from my breedings. This, along with my moral obligation, provides me with significant justification for spaying or neutering even the most beautiful of all pugs, or any dog for that matter, if they are not producing only top quality puppies.
Our adults take turns sleeping in the bed with us at night and are never without clean blankets, chew toys, fans, lots of room, soft beds, and little swimming pools. I take the time and spare no expense to make sure they are living the best possible life even while they are spending time in the roomy, under roof and outdoor kennel. Each kennel has only 2-4 dogs in it and they are never neglected. I may not have a spotless kennel, but my dogs are extremly healthy and healthy. (Click here to see pictuers of my kennel.)
My vet knows that I am in and out of his office, and not just for health certificates. My adults get their teeth cleaned unlike puppy mill breeders. I have been going to the same vet for about 20 years now. I trust them and work well with them to produce only quality presa canarios, french bulldogs, chihuahuas, and dachshunds.
