The Company is a true Papua New Guinea entity with an aggressive localization and training record that has seen the development of our human resources beyond most other companies with National staff occupying management positions throughout the organization. We have a staff of 135 trained to respond to the entire range of equipment requirements.
With branch operations in Port Moresby, Lae and Rabaul in Papua New Guinea and Honiara in the Solomons, we are well placed to serve the mining, construction and forestry industries. Project site branches are also at Lihir and Gold Ridge and are added as other new project infrastructure is started.
While new equipment deliveries are very important to UMW and our customers, the majority of staff effort is required to provide replacement parts and service to the over 3,000 UMW units in the field located on every work site and in every remote location in the country. To this end we have over Kina 20 million of inventories for our customers to draw on. There is always a complete range of new and used equipment in inventory to meet immediate delivery requirements.
