edit K J G's Comments on Tixmob.com

  • K J G (frustrated) : Trying to buy Solfest tickets through Tixmob has consistently proved to be a extremely frustrating experience. Every time your details are submitted to their system, you are faced with a message telling you that your session has "timed out" - even when all the details are pre-prepared and simply copied and pasted into the appropriate fields for the sake of speed. In addition, no land-line telephone number is available on which to report these problems. On top of this, Tixmob seem unable to spell the names of those ticket holders (vital, as correctly matching ID is required at the gate) who have managed to buy tickets, despite the care with which they have been submitted. Any attempts made to correct those names have met with similar difficulties as those mentioned above. Tixmob have been aware of these shortcomings with their service for many many months but, despite their assurances, no action appears ever to be taken to remedy them. When these problems became evident as soon as the tickets went on sale, Tixmob claimed that they were caused by the volume of applications swamping their system. However, now that this volume has reduced greatly, their inability to provide the service they claim to provide persists. A large number of people have simply given up their attempts to purchase Solfest tickets on account of this, preferring to make arrangements to attend alternative events instead. In all previous years, Solfest tickets have sold out in the first few weeks - this year several hunderd still remain unsold with only a few weeks left until the event. On their website they claim to provide "a hassle free" service - this is entirely and widely known (among the Solfest community) to be FALSE. Indeed, there were so many complaints about the Tixmob ticket sales system to the Solfest forum (and the animosity it gave rise to) that it had to be shut down for months. In short: don't touch them with a barge poll! 10:02, 13 July 2008 (PDT)
