Michael Murphy has demonstrated a strong work ethic throughout his life, both in school and on the job. He excelled in high school and emerged as one of the top five individuals from all Long Island high schools engaged in portfolio management. A graduate of the University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY Albany), Mr. Murphy played lacrosse and rugby in college. His hard work and determination led to his being named MVP of the rugby team. Mr. Murphy earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business from SUNY Albany in 2001.
The combination of hard work, Economics degree, and strong people skills helped Michael Murphy land a job as Financial Consultant and Broker at Investors Capital, a large national network of independent broker-dealers. Mr. Murphy’s office is located in Midtown Manhattan. Living in the nation’s financial capital, Mr. Murphy has many contacts in the industry. He attends monthly meetings with other Financial Advisors at Investors Capital and holds membership in the Financial Planning Association, which enables him to build his contact database. Thanks to his connections in the financial world, he has many resources in New York to draw upon for expert advice on equities, mutual funds, fixed-income securities, and bonds.
