edit Adoption Map
Hi Ray, Ted and I were looking at the "Funnel of engagement" page and we thought that "Adoption Map" might be a better name for it as 1) its not a funnel anymore 2) funnel seems to be the wrong metaphor to be used for people. So we were wondering if you could change its name in the image as well. Obed Suhail

I like it! I left a comment at Category:PortlandTech_talk just before I got your message.

I'm doing "how to log in" right now. The plan is to have at least 5 of these ready to go (in the next couple of days) and then start a 10-day series of blog posts, one per day. We're also creating Category:VideoFAQ as well as putting them on the relevant help pages. Once they're high enough quality, we can also put them on the signup screen itself, on the login screen itself, etc. I'm at the stage where I feel we're learning a lot and will learn the most by doing many of these, short, and once we have a bunch of experience (in the next week, hopefully), we can learn how to edit them and ramp up the production value. How's that sound? TedErnst (talk) 11:31, 29 February 2008 (PST)

Thanks for poking around there. You know more about how domain registrars operate than I do, so if there's anything about them that strikes you as meriting addition to the article, say the word! Steven | talk to me 20:33, 4 March 2008 (PST)
edit SouqElArab.com
Ray, Good day to you. I would like to express my perspective on AboutUs.org that I believe a CEO as yourself, and myself, would appreciate every now and then, rather than sending it to info@ emails... Ray, my sincere congratulations on such a fantastic place to experience, learn and browse the world from your site. Armed with user-content, AboutUs, I believe will bring back the credibility that once existed in the early days of the Internet. As SouqElArab.com is concerned, we are so proud of our page on AboutUs, that it has been used in all our communications with our customers, suppliers, stakeholders and on ever e-mail sent. We have canceled the About Us section on our Web site, and linked it to our page on AboutUs.org, as well as included in every newsletter we send. AboutUs.org page is now our page where we update everything concerning SouqElArab.com and tell people about it. It is simply telling all About Us! Your team, especially Saad Saeed, who has helped build this page, deserves a thank you. Ray I believe in your product, and congratulate you my friend. Cheers
- We are ever so pleased to hear that, thanks for the kind words! - Ray | talk

edit Images?
Heya Ray.
Hope all goes well. :]. Is there any downloadable images with AboutUs' logos we can use? I and my friends code our home pages for our browsers and we would love to add AboutUs to it...or I would. Also, is there a code to add the 'search box' as well?
Merci , NickBurrus.

edit Did you win the other night?
Hey Ray!
I had met you a few weeks ago @ the office. (PingPong @ night on 5th floor). I was with my Husband, and 2 young kids... I had told you about some of the various work that I have been doing throughout AboutUs pages. You had advised me to upload my photo, so you would recognize me on the site, But, for my children's, and my own security, I prefer not to do that. I use my own logo's instead...Here are my AboutUs profile names, they do need some work still, but life is busy these days....
Hope that you can find the time to check 'em out, and keep in touch! Lemme' know what you think...
Thanks again and God Bless, Alysia Cross

FreeEscrow is Nr.1 of over 8.5 million hits
Hello Ray, it is a great pleasure for me to inform you on the successful activity around the concept of a free escrow service, presented as an article at Aboutus and now incarnated in the domain freeescrow.org for sale.
A Google screenshot for searching FreeEscrow shows Aboutus.org/FreeEscrow as Nr.1 of more than 8.5 million google hits. As also MeatballWiki, CommunityWiki and WardsWiki and several social bookmarking communities are aware of this, my thanks goes to them as well.
As I know that you are an expert in the realm of domaining, and since I want to pledge money, earned by
SocialDomaining for the advancement of the WikiBank of the CommunityWiki in the sense of
I offer you to get this domain and my work to promote it, for a symbolic one hundred US$. What do you think about it?
The higher the sell price for this domain in the ongoing process of public negotiations with third parties, the more I can advance the wiki community based ideas about
Therefore I see no undue risk to make you this initial offer and would be very happy if you (or a wikizen partner of AboutUs) would accept it in a statement, published in <->FreeEscrow.
All the best for all of us

PS.: Currently the search position dropped to Nr.2. I.e. the search results are highly sensitive to actual data. fridemar 11:38, 12 February 2009 (PST)
PPS.: After Twittering, and writing a forum postings at digitalpoint.com, at Meatball, CommunityWiki and an open mail to the first free escrow provider webpermit.net we are again Nr.1. But how long. Although I have a lot of other options, not yet used, I urgently need your help to answer my question. fridemar 17:46, 13 February 2009 (PST)
Hello Ray, your friendly supporting answer on my talk page, made me so happy, that I had a sleepless night (really), where I pondered how to maximally amplify your input. Here is a short intermediary result. (If you allow, I will factor out my public letter later, leaving only a short "incipit" back afterwards).
When looking for a cost-minimal funds-transfer, that could serve as a test, demo, and another action to establish goodwill, I found a provider RevolutionMoneyExchange.com, who offers such a free funds transfer, presented as a serious business with a similar social engagement as Aboutus.org.
Looking for an appropriate domain-name to give our [PennyBank] initiative for the 200 million OLPC kids some more synergistic context, I luckily found, that all TDL domains for FreeFundsTransfer are available.
I only bought FreeFundsTransfer.info
, leaving all the other gems
as a courtesy free for you and/or the friendly and aware wikizens, that visit/contribute to your talk page.
Now I need some time to search, elaborate, contribute and invite friendly and constructive people to the Aboutus community to foster the open process; if you have any specific questions, I would be happy to give them highest priority.

edit What do you prefer
Hello Ray,
I pondered a lot of your friendly gesture, how to maximize the benefit for the maximal number of people involved.
a)Do you wish to have transferred the domain freeescrow.org into your domainportfolio?
b) Do you prefer to have it sold and sharing the additional gain with you in public?
c) Or is the money meant to give a support for my voluntary community work.
d) Or do you suggest another option.
Any option, you choose is appreciated with a big thank you to you.
Considering the fundstransfer, I would love to integrate it into the ExtremeOpenBusiness community project.
I looked for a bank with minimal transfer-costs, and I found RevolutionMoney.com. They claim zero-cost transfers in their RevolutionMoneyExchange.com, and they are looking for people, who spread the news.
It looks like a serious business, quoting from their website:
With series B venture capital funding from Citi, Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, Revolution LLC, and a world-class Board of Directors, Revolution Money has strong financial resources and leadership to compete and grow.
Board of Directors
Ted Leonsis: Chairman, Vice Chairman, AOL; Owner, Washington Capitals,
Steve Case: Chairman, Revolution LLC; Co-Founder, AOL; Former Chairman, AOL Time Warner
David Golden: CFO, Revolution LLC; Former Vice Chairman, J.P. Morgan
David Pottruck: Chairman, Eos Airlines; Former CEO, Charles Schwab
Frank Raines: Former Chairman & CEO, Fannie Mae; Previously head of OMB
Larry Summers: Former Secretary of Treasury; Former President, Harvard University
Jason Hogg: Founder, President and CEO, Revolution Money
Also they are probably looking for international customers; when I entered their registration form, only locations for US-states could be selected.
As the German "Deutsche Bank" supports this project, there must be a way to become a pilot customer. So I ask you, if you or some of your friends have a direct connection to the high-level deciders, such that the transfer of your 100USD to my account could be done as starting a pilot, taking the form of an efficient public PR action (in the sense of OpenBusiness), producing synergies for all parties involved.
Perhaps you or some friends of Aboutus know another interesting alternative?
All the best
Fridemar
PS: Checked the availability of some offered tld gems freefundstransfer and as they were still not taken by you or friends of this page, I bought *.com and *.org for developing them in Aboutus. I searched within the neighbouring Google results (of course we are again on top :) and didn't find yet a provider with whom to make a pilot-project in form of XOB. As it has been a long working night, it's nearly 5 am, I must stop now, continuing the work later, with some new ideas. fridemar 19:53, 1 March 2009 (PST)

PaypalStorefrontWiki
Hello Ray,
to keep my talk contributions short, what about an Aboutus Plugin, that would be a community incentive to build free mini storefronts at Aboutus in the sense of
WikiNomics+Wiki. In addition to that, I would love to see you in the next days giving the golden start with your pledged 100 USD transaction for e.g. buying FreeEscrow.org or freefundstransfer.org]. As no wiki yet offers such a tool for its wikizens and this is only a short hack (since Paypal has done the lion's part), I guess that this is the most efficient reciproke (I found) to contribute. fridemar 05:36, 14 April 2009 (PDT)
PS.: Alternative Options: I open a storefront in MySpace.com or Wordpress.com or elsewhere and link via Aboutus.org.

CallForBarnraising
Hello Ray, inspirated by your YouTube series, I suggest to help us barnraising the Cmap community. I earlier was lucky enough to make a bridge between Aboutus and NamePros.com (See the green light of their CEO). Cmaps can work as a dynamic growing road-system within Aboutus and not "only" as bridges. See my initiative at Cmaps:CmappersCommunityInitiative Think of SilkRoads within and beyond AboutusOrg. Currently we have "only" a catalogue, but a community supported ever growing map would increase the efficiency by network effects much more, due to
