edit Google map flyouts
Saad,
The flyouts don't work right now. I put a note in the bug log the other day about this and talked to Ward about it. They worked as recently as Dec, and he thinks it is:
a) a minor problem and was going to do a little work to see what broke b) if it's easy to fix, will fix it c) if it's hard, then it's probably not going to be addressed in the near future, along with fixing the API so it's easier to add/change/create maps than what you probably did. This has to do with priorities for development and the fact that the Google Maps API doesn't work as well in some ways as the intersect maps (like used on PortlandTech/Companies/Web 2.0, where the flyouts work, because Stephen/Ward wrote a new API for that, skirting around what we're using on pages like E-TechSiliconValley.com and your JDUnitedRealty.com.
Hope this answers your questions. As for me, I'm going to continue to put the caption/flyout information in the maps with the hopes it'll be fixed soon, although I can understand if others don't want to take the extra step for something that can't be seen currently.

- Saad, flyout works on the maps as you're editing, because it works in "preview" mode, but not while it's been saved. As I said, it's a both a
nastyfinicky bug and a rather silly one. -- TakKendrick | talk

Between the company blog, Twitter and DailyBuzz, I'm kinda dry, but thanks for the prodding :-)
edit DoneDone
Hi Sa'ad, I asked why we use the phrase DoneDone; I figured that one was, well done, as Julia and John signed off. I just really disklike that phrase ) - makes me feel like I am 6 yrs. old. Re the real estate badge, I've added to real estate related pages. I am not being too literal in this, meaning not only sites that sell homes- but try to vertically integrate without letting it become irrelevant, does that make sense? Granted, most of the portal entries are more along the lines of realtors, but I've included property stagers, home finance, mortgage. Kasey 10:29, 13 February 2008 (PST)
- Agree with not liking the phrase "DoneDone", but also because with wiki things are never "done", they're just at a different stage and "DoneDone" makes it sound like we're not going to improve it any more. I think it's appropriate for development, but not content/community. - Ray | talk
I think when I finish with a WikiCoach assignment, I'm feeling Done. And I need sign-off from the client and another wiki coach before I'm actually done. DoneDone is the word for this further stage. Is there a better word? Or should we re-name the earlier stage? TedErnst (talk)
I love the idea of using "Promoted" instead of "DoneDone". Obed Suhail

Hi Saad, yikes I missed your for sale tag on FredAndWinona.com. It was blanked and a lot, so why add undelete .... At this point I typically don't add either tag (lot, for sale) at this point: not core, no website... Kasey 09:01, 7 March 2008 (PST)
edit sorry...
