List Of PortlandTech Done Done Pages

Work in progress for PortlandTech edit

Sanwal,

In addition to the new page for the overall DoneDone status of pages (PortlandTech/DoneDone Pages - thanks to Mehr on that!), we're going to continue keeping track of individual work in progress on the task page now. So, for this period Build out PortlandTech (Nov. 1-15) has a section at the bottom where everyone can put the articles they are working on with a status (Done or In Progress) next to them. We can leave notes here on those that need improvement; DoneDone articles will be marked here and moved to PortlandTech/DoneDone Pages.

Let me know if you have any thoughts. Other than that I'll be in touch with you on the work via the task page! Thanks for the work so far!

PortlandTech/People edit

Just a heads up - we've been categorizing people pages with a bit of a simpler format that allows for these tags to be expanded into other portals that you might want to check out. Instead of Category:PortlandTechPeople, simply categorize a person-page with: Category:PortlandTech and Category:Person. Then we can use the intersect tool to create a dynamic list without needing to create a new category. In addition to this, we've simplified the other people tag formats to mimic those on company pages:

Category:PortlandTechFounder turns into Category:Founder

Category:PortlandTechCEO turns into Category:CEO

Category:PortlandTEchVicePresident turns into Category:Vice President

etc....

These can all be intersected with Category:PortlandTech and to get more specific lists of the different people in the area. If you look at PortlandTech/People you'll see a basic rubric of the possible intersections - when the given tags are added to a page, it appears automatically in these lists.

Let me know if you have any thoughts on this, but I think it is a bit simpler and expands the universality of our tagging system the by using the intersect functionality.

About tagging SeattleTech edit

I have sort out a solution to your problem about those companies which you think are not falling in SeattleTech, The Solution resides in badging them as SeattleTech and add a category of SUBST:SeattleTechOtherCompany!

Try it, it seems to work as it also contains other companies which do not exactly fall in a particular tech related section.Asma

Don't work on any new LahoreTech pages.I was going through articles in the needs review section and there were many that need some editing here and there.It would be better if we take articles already worked upon and build them completely first.Otherwise we will keep accumulating work for ourselves for later.I will start with Mubin and start viewing articles put in needs review and make sure they have the following in this order:

1-Company Name at the top

2-Logo

3-Description:2 lines each and in two different paragraphs atleast.Note there should be no description heading.instead the description should follwo right after the logo.The description should be in your view and not the companies so it shouldnt say "we" do the following etc

4-Products and Services- A One line description of each service if possible and available

5-People-Make internal links for the people.Note the poeple page should atleast have the following:

a)Designation in company

b)Logo

c)A link to the relevant company page at aboutus

6)Partners

7)Address and Contact Information

8)Google the company and see if you find any relevant information such as related blogs, user comments, reviews etc and put them in the Related Articles/News heading

9)Badge

Of course you wont have to change the category since they are already in the needs review.I thought this would be better.Instead of putting them in needs work and then waiting for you to check them i think its better if we start self reviewing.PLease start from the list ASAP.i will be putting completed articles in the donedone list on a daily basis that way. I would really appreciate it if you could start this ASAP.

Please review your series of needs review articles once more, just to check any thing lacking in them and construct a list named Sanwal list of NeedReview Articles for Mehr

Second small thing I would suggest that If you come by a people page or any company page which does not contain any new edit except the bot generated info, add the InProgress tag to it, so that in the future it would be easy for Mehr to identify only the specific needs review articles, in which you and I have made the edits!
