The Victoria College of Art (VCA) offers intimate size, gifted teachers and a diverse program based upon studio courses. And because we know that making art can be challenging, we provide a non-competitive, collegial environment for our students.
As a not-for-profit, independent college of fine art (founded in 1974), we accept 130 full-time students each year in the Diploma program, have a part-time enrollment of 800 students annually and an international alumni base of 5,000. We are located in Victoria, the capital city of the Province of British Columbia, Canada.
OUR VISION is to provide a viable post-secondary school founded on drawing, painting, two- and three- dimensional design, art history and associated disciplines. OUR GOAL is to provide the highest quality programs to prepare artists for a professional career. We also want to offer a wide range of teachers and courses for continued professional development and for the community as a whole. OUR PHILOSOPHY is to give each student the opportunity to excel in a non-competitive environment of support and critical dialogue, developing at the same time exacting standards of personal expectations.
